Fundamentals

Fundamentals is a research-based universal social, emotional, and behavioral screener that helps schools better understand the strengths and needs of their students. By providing reliable, actionable data, the screener helps identify students who may benefit from additional support while also informing schoolwide practices that promote positive learning environments and student success.

In Westerville City Schools, Fundamentals is an important component of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). The screening results help our educators make informed decisions, monitor student needs over time, and ensure that every student has access to the appropriate level of support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
