The deadline to participate in the 2026-2027 All-Day Kindergarten (ADK) lottery has now passed. Families who are still interested in All-Day Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year should email adk@westerville.k12.oh.us to request placement on the waitlist. Please note that your student must be enrolled in WCS to be placed on the waitlist.
Westerville City Schools offers Half-Day and All-Day Kindergarten programming.

Who can enroll in Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year?
- Children who turn 5 years old on or before the first day of school, which is August 18, 2026, can enroll in kindergarten for fall, 2026.
- Kindergarten is required before first grade.
- Current WCS Preschool families:
- You do not need to re-enroll.
- Preschool Services will contact you directly.
All-Day Kindergarten (ADK):
- ADK is a random lottery program with tuition.
- Financial assistance is available for families who qualify.
- To join the ADK lottery, enrollment must have been completed by February 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
- Families who missed the lottery deadline and are still interested in ADK for the 26-27 school year can email adk@westerville.k12.oh.us and request to be put on the waitlist.

Half-Day Kindergarten (HDK):
- Due to low enrollment in our HDK program, HDK will not be available at every elementary school next year.
- After careful consideration, the following HDK programs will be combined to efficiently utilize resources:
- Alcott/Fouse HDK students will attend Fouse Elementary School
- Annehurst/Whittier HDK students will attend Annehurst Elementary School
- Hawthorne/Minerva France HDK students will attend Hawthorne Elementary School
- Huber Ridge/Wilder HDK students will attend Huber Ridge Elementary School
- Mark Twain/Cherrington/Pointview/Robert Frost HDK students will attend Mark Twain Elementary School
- McVay HDK students will remain at McVay Elementary School
- Families whose children are assigned to a different building for HDK than their home school will be provided transportation to support this placement.
- Please know that students will return to their originally assigned elementary schools when they enter first grade.
