Material Distribution Process
While school districts are not required to allow businesses or organizations to share information with families online or send materials home with students, many do so as a public service. We’re pleased to offer this service at Westerville City Schools.
Organizations and business wishing to share information with families must complete the Request for Distribution of Materials form and submit a PDF file of the final flier to be reviewed.
The district follows an objective process for reviewing and approving requests to distribute materials to students and staff, or to make them available in our buildings. Approval of printed materials sent home with students is restricted to items from:
- Westerville City School District or its schools,
- Government entities,
- WCS PTA/PTO/PTSA or booster groups, and
- Entities working in an officially-recognized partnership with WCS.
No yard signs/promotional signs are permitted on district property except those promoting events or activities sponsored by, approved by, or directly benefiting the district; from Government entities; or as specified according to the district’s facilities rental agreement.
Organizations whose requests are approved must provide sufficient quantities of materials and deliver the materials to our schools as we do not offer a centralized distribution service for this purpose. Materials that do not come from the above-identified groups or meet requirements for paper distribution may be considered for posting through our Virtual Backpack.
