Parent groups and booster organizations spent 65,510 hours supporting Westerville City Schools students in and out of the classroom last year.

As the Olympics have captured the world’s attention, educators across the District are turning the Games into a launchpad for learning — sparking students’ curiosity about new sports, distant countries and the history behind the competition.

For the second straight year, Westerville Central High School senior Avery Strickland has been selected to the USA Junior Coed Cheer Team, which represents the best male and female competitive cheerleaders ages 15-18 from across the country. 

The Westerville City Schools Competition Dance Team, which includes students from all three Westerville high schools, placed fifth in the Pom category at the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators (OASSA) Dance State Championship on Jan. 25.

Westerville South High School senior Rodav Kalengayi is moving onto the state 2025 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Oratorical Contest after recently placing third at the regional competition at Columbus State Community College.

The Westerville Education Foundation is accepting applications for its Spring 2026 grant cycle.

Westerville Central High School senior Greg Woods made school history as the Warhawks’ first recipient of the Outstanding in Football Performance and Academic Achievement School Leadership Award by the Columbus Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame.

Terri Stiles, a speech language pathologist at Robert Frost Elementary, has been recognized by the Westerville Sunrise Rotary for going above and beyond to serve students.

Westerville elementary students are invited to submit a theme for the Rotary Club of Westerville’s 2026 Independence Day Parade.
