McVay Elementary hosts 35th anniversary celebration on Sept. 30

Current and former students, staff and families are invited to join McVay Elementary at its 35th anniversary celebration from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The event will feature a community-wide open house with student performances, family-friendly activities, a tour of the building and food trucks.

The school will also unveil a Peace Pole in partnership with the Westerville Sunrise Rotary.

"This is intended to be a McVay homecoming where everyone can come together and celebrate Pioneer Pride," Principal Jason Fullen said.

On the Friday prior to the community event, McVay teachers and staff are organizing a school-wide celebration where students can participate in a variety of activities in honor of the 35th anniversary, including a time capsule and memory wall.
