Cali Hejduk, an eighth-grader at Genoa Middle School, is a U.S. Youth Soccer National Champion after her U13 soccer team, Columbus United Lions, won their final match against Solar SC from Texas last month.
The club team punched their ticket to the national championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, following wins at the state level and midwestern finals. The Columbus United Lions was one of our teams competing in the national finals. They won their game 2-0, which aired live on ESPNU.
