Emerson Elementary is ranked No. 9 among Ohio elementary schools — and the only one in Central Ohio in the top 10 — according to a new U.S. News & World Report ranking of elementary and middle schools across the country, which was released this week.
U.S. News & World Reports ranked more than 45,000 elementary schools and about 22,000 middle schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia for its report.
Elementary and middle schools are evaluated on mathematics and reading/language arts scores on state assessments as well as test results in the context of socioeconomic demographics. In other words, the top-ranked schools are all high-achieving and have succeeded at educating all their students.
