eDay Lesson #2

eDay Lesson #2: Revolutionary Idea
The purpose of this assignment is to encourage you to determine what issues/events/people are important to you.  This assignment will allow you to research and analyze various subjects you feel passionately about.  As students, your job is not only to graduate from high school, but to become knowledgeable and valuable citizens in our community, state, and country. Therefore, it is imperative that you educate yourselves on the issues of our modern society.

BREAKING NEWS:
This just released from the associated press:

Scientists just discovered there is a viable life form on Mars and representatives from the planet will be coming to Westerville North High School to visit your Social Studies classroom. Your mission is to educate these visitors on the FIVE most important revolutionary discoveries on Earth. For example, you might want to educate these visitors about Copernicus’ Heliocentric Universe or Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation. You may even want to educate these visitors on a more current idea such as the World Wide Web or Steve Jobs and Apple (do not use all four of my examples). For each idea you address, you must provide a description of the event/person AND state why it has been so significant on Earth. Below is a form to record your finding so you will be well prepared to educate our visitors when they arrive from Mars. This assignment is due two weeks after school resumes.
