AP United States Government and Politics is a rigorous, fast-paced and project based college level course designed to strengthen your understanding of modern America.  This course is an intensive study of the formal and informal structures of government and the processes of the American political system, with an emphasis on policymaking and implementation. Because you will be able to earn college credit, based on your performance on the AP exam, this course is considered a college-level course; therefore, the workload and required student responsibility reflect college-level expectations.  AP Government provides a worthwhile challenge and opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of how our government works, helping you to take your place as a voting citizen.  This course will aim to develop your critical thinking skills, effective and persuasive writing skills, reading comprehension skills, and development of a critical lens through which we will examine the choices made by American leaders.

    Remind  is a valuable communication resource that allows me to sends messages to both parents and students of the assignments due for the evening.  This serves as both a reminder to the student of the assignment due the next day, especially for those who may be absent, and to the parent as a way to keep them involved in their students’ homework and projects due throughout the year.
