WNHS student signed letter of intent to play athletics in college

Westerville North High School senior Savana Gurr signed a letter of intent this week to play volleyball at Marietta College in the fall.

Gurr, who is the daughter of Amy Ward and Michael Gurr, will major in biochemistry on the Pre-Physician Assistant track. She plans to complete the PA program with a focus on practicing in the dermatology field. She has already been accepted into the college’s McDonoungh Leadership Program. 

While at WNHS, Gurr has received numerous academic acknowledgments including Superior Rating for Academic Performance; Academic Excellence in business, English, science, mathematics, language arts, world language and social studies; Scholar Athlete; Athletic Achievement for Outstanding Performance in girls volleyball. She is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Warrior Alliance Leadership Team.

She is a three-year varsity volleyball letter winner, team captain and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year. She received an All-OCC Honorable Mention. 

Gurr has also traveled the country for the past several years playing at the national level of USA volleyball for Mintonette Sports.
