Nancy Nestor-Baker returned to the board in 2014. She has lived most of her life in the Westerville school district and is a member of the Westerville High School Class of 1975 (graduated in 1974). She is a member of the Westerville South Alumni Hall of Fame.

Nancy previously served 14.5 years on the board, from 1991 through 2005. During that time, she served five terms as board president, two terms as vice president, and acted as board liaison in areas such as policy, strategic planning, curriculum and instruction, personnel, governmental relations, facilities and business operations, and communications.

Dr. Nestor-Baker is the Senior Assistant Vice President, Community Engagement at United Way of Central Ohio, where she focuses on community building and collective impact. Additionally, she has a special focus on education, working to strengthen educational opportunities and outcomes for children and youth of all ages.

Prior to joining UWCO, Nancy served as the director of The Ohio State University P-12 Project, where her work focused on school-university-community partnership, and as a faculty member in Educational Administration at the University of Cincinnati.  Her research, teaching, and service efforts include topics such as tacit knowledge, trust development, school/community partnerships, school governance and leadership, and university outreach. She is published in scholarly journals such as Teachers' College Record and the Journal of Educational Administration, as well as in practitioner-oriented texts and online journals. Early in her career, she taught 7th grade English/language Arts.

A three-time graduate of The Ohio State University, Nancy holds a PhD in Educational Administration; a MA in Gifted Education; and a BS in English Education. 

Dr. Nestor-Baker lives in Old Westerville and is a member of Central College Presbyterian Church. She has three children, all of whom graduated from Westerville Schools, and four grandchildren.
