Genoa and Walnut Springs students advance to Ohio History Day Statewide Competition Region 6 medal

Nineteen students from Genoa Middle School and Walnut Springs Middle School are moving on to the state competition after participating in the Region 6 Ohio History Day Competition on March 11 at the Ohio Statehouse.

Walnut Springs seventh-grader receives honorable mention in national essay competition Anna McCracken

Anna McCracken, a seventh-grader at Walnut Springs Middle School, received an honorable mention in a national essay competition conducted by the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and Math for America.

McCracken’s essay, “I Use Math to Catch Bad Guys,” will be published on the AWM’s website as well as in the May/June issue of the AWM newsletter.
