January 30-Feb. 3, 2023

Good day, Heritage MS Students and Families!

I hope this message finds everyone doing well and having a wonderful weekend. It’s hard to believe it, but we’re already approaching February and the interim for Quarter 3! Time flies when you’re having fun and being #HuskyStrong! As always, if you need any support during this time with your student’s academics, behavior, or social emotional wellness, we’re here to help. Just reach out to any of our awesome teachers, counselors or administrators.

Here are some Husky Happenings and Information for the week of January 30-February 3, 2023:

  1. Here is the #HuskyStrong Action Challenge video, which is about last week’s word, JUSTICE! Check it out and then submit your answer on the #HuskyStrong Google Form. The Word of the Week Google Form is also in your Counselor Connection Course in Schoology! Every submission gets your House 10 points!

  2. 8th grade Families! Critical news for you:

    • High school counselors will be talking to all 8th graders at HMS on Tuesday, January 31. Please ask your student about the high school course book and selection documents, so you can review them at home!

    • Winter Dance information will be sent just to 8th grade families in a message on Monday evening, so be on the lookout! It will have information about buying tickets, what to wear, bus options, etc.

  3. 6th & 7th Grade Families! Please check your students’ Counselor Connection Course in Schoology for information about scheduling and the course selection process. Counselors are starting that important work with all Huskies soon!

  4. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 8 at 6pm! Our amazing Counselors & administrators will bring you an informative, engaging session about “Dealing with Bullying & Social Drama in the Middle Grades”. The session will be held in the Media Center–and snacks will be provided!

  5. Raise the praise and elevate the celebrate with the January HuskyStrong 4A Awards! Anyone can give these awards (students, families, teachers) to anyone who has shown excellence/effort in any of the 4A’s: Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Altruism. Just fill out this simple Google form and we’ll do the rest!

  6. REMINDER! Parent-Teacher Conferences will be in-person/face-to-face on Feb. 16 and virtually/on-line on Feb. 23 from 4-8pm. Starting this week, HMS teachers will start reaching out to some HMS families to schedule those conferences!

  7. Husky “Next Level” Athletics this week! Best of luck to our HMS scholar-athletes--and to all of our Huskies who also participate in club sports!

    • All Winter #HuskyStrong Athletes: mark your calendars for the Winter Sports Awards ceremony on Thursday, February 9 at 6pm.

Thanks for everything you’re doing at home to support your Husky. As always, please feel free to reach out at any time to me via email ( or via phone at 614-797-6600 if you have questions, concerns, ideas, etc. Keep your eyes on the prize and seize every day with kindness, excellence, safety, and Husky PRIDE! Let’s keep HOWLing for Success!
