NCAA Eligibility Center Requirements
If a student thinks that he/she may have the opportunity to play Division I or II athletics at the college level, he/she must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse and meet the NCAA academic requirements. To meet the academic requirements of the eligibility center, a student must do the following:
- Graduate from high school.
- Earn a grade-point average of at least 2.3 on a 4.00 scale in a core curriculum of at least 16 academic courses. The following chart outlines the core units required for the NCAA certification: For Division I the minimum grade-point average in the 16 core courses and required ACT or SAT score vary according to the Initial-Eligibility Index.

NCAA Division I will require 10 core courses to be completed prior to the seventh semester (seven of the 10 must be a combination of English, Math or Natural or Physical Science). These 10 courses become “locked in” at the seventh semester and cannot be retaken for grade improvement.

For Division II the minimum core grade-point average is a 2.2 on a 4.00 scale. Students must earn sum scores of at least 70 on the ACT or a combined score of at least 840 on the SAT.

Request Ms. Elliott to send your transcript to NCAA.

Send your ACT or SAT scores to the eligibility center. You will need to log in to your account with ACT or SAT, click on send my scores, and use NCAA code: 9999 as recipient.
A student should seek this initial certification during the fall of his/ her junior year. If you have any questions you should see Ms. Elliott (elliottl@wcsoh.org).
