Student thespians of Westerville North High School (located at 950 County Line Road) will stage the comedy Dearly Departed at 7:00 p.m. November 7 - 9. It is the school’s first play under new Theatre Director Mary Lee DeWitt. “I chose this play as my first show to direct at North because of the brilliant comedic writing, the quirky fun characters and the twists throughout the storyline,” said DeWitt. “The play offers opportunities for a large cast and new challenges for our actors and tech crew as well.”
Dearly Departed follows a dysfunctional Southern family as they struggle to cope with challenges in the wake of the family patriarch’s death. After many missteps and much mayhem, friends and neighbors help the family pull together in time for the funeral. David Bottrell and Jessie Jones wrote the play.
Tickets for general admission seating are $10 each. They may be purchased at the school beginning at 6:00 p.m. on performance days, or may be ordered online at https://westerville-north-theater-department.ticketleap.com/dearly-departed/.
