On May 1, as part of their science and social studies units, the eighth grade class at Walnut Springs Middle School traveled to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, located at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton. The trip was made possible by the PTO and parent chaperones. While there, students had the opportunity to tour the facility and talk with veterans.
Wright Patterson is the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum with more than 360 aircraft and missiles on display. The museum draws more than 1.3 million visitors each year, making it one of the most frequently visited tourist attractions in Ohio. Admission is free.
