Westerville Parent Council (WPC) is a group of Westerville School District parent organizations (PTAs, PTOs and Booster groups) organized under the authority of the Ohio PTA for the purpose of promoting conferences, communications, leadership development, and the coordination of efforts of local parent organizations. Ohio PTA creates or establishes councils in counties, cities or other areas designated by its board of managers. WPC provides support and assistance to local parent organizations within the Westerville School District and is a valuable source of guidance and information.
Parent organizations within the Westerville School District are eligible to become members of the WPC. Each parent organization is represented on the voting body of the council by their President and Parent Council Representative or Alternate.
WPC meetings are held monthly (the third Wednesday of each month) to accomplish council work. Meetings increase the effectiveness of the member organizations, provide opportunities for local leaders to work together and network with each other, and meet the needs of the individual parent organizations and the council as a whole.
WPC is responsible to unite home, school, and community on behalf of the children and youth. It is especially important for WPC to cooperate with other community organizations and agencies having similar goals.
All proceeds from this event will go to support the Westerville Parent Council PTA Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded to graduating students in Westerville City Schools based on community service, academic achievement, leadership qualities and financial need. Through support from people like you, Westerville Parent Council has seen their Scholarship Program grow from offering one Scholarship in 2007 to 10 Scholarships in 2010.
