Westerville City School District (WCSD) officials today announced that they are recommending the employment of Bryan “Buck” Weaver as Westerville South High School’s next athletic director. Weaver will fill a vacancy created by the departure of Scott Dorne, who next year will be the Athletic Director at Thomas Worthington High School in the Worthington City School District.

Weaver currently serves as a health and physical education teacher, as well as head boys track coach, at Olentangy Orange High School. He earned a Bachelor of Education degree from The Ohio State University, a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Ashland University, and recently completed an administrative internship with Olentangy Local Schools. He holds licensure in Administration 5-12, Health PreK-12, and Physical Education PreK-12.

“After meeting and talking with Buck, it was evident that his boundless energy, leadership ability, and desire to work with the Westerville South student-athletes, staff and community members, will make him a great addition to the Wildcat tradition,” said WCSD Executive Director of Secondary Education Scott Reeves.

The WCSD Board of Education will be asked to approve Weaver’s employment during its next regular meeting on July 8, 2013. Pending Board approval, Weaver’s first day of employment at Westerville South will be August 1, 2013.
