The Ohio Department of Education is now accepting applications from families to establish Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Educational Savings Accounts for the 2022-23 school year.
The ACE Educational Savings Account program provides qualifying families with a $1,000 credit that can be used to pay for a variety of enrichment activities that will accelerate learning for students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is available to any student ages 6-18 years old whose family income is at or below 400% of the federal poverty level.
Examples of eligible activities include tutoring, day camps, music lessons and field trips. At the YMCA of Central Ohio, for example, the credit can be used for purchase memberships.
