Westerville families are invited to fish and participate in raffles and games as part of the second annual ZakFest fundraising event in honor of Zak Davis, a 2016 Westerville North High School graduate who died in a car accident in 2019.
An avid fisherman, Davis was part of the fishing clubs at WNHS and Walnut Springs Middle School, participating in several state tournaments and volunteering at community fishing events. He obtained a professional fishing sponsorship at age 12 and taught all his friends to fish.
Davis’ family launched the Zak M. Davis Memorial Foundation, which organized the first ZakFest last year and raised $2,700. All the proceeds were donated to the Walnut Springs Fishing Club.
This year, ZakFest will be held from 1-4 p.m. June 25 at Hoff Woods Park, 556 McCorkle Blvd. Learn more about the event here.
