Westerville South High School senior Bella Price and Westerville North High School freshman William Baumann received best acting honors during the 2022 CAPA Marquee High School Musical Theatre Awards on May 10.

Price won Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Alice Murphy in WSHS’ fall musical, “Bright Star.” The production was also nominated for Outstanding Ensemble and Best Musical Production. She will travel to New York City this summer to compete on the national level for the 2022 Jimmy Awards® against other regional winners from across the country.

Meanwhile, Baumann won Best Actor in a Supporting Role as Chef Louis in WNHS’ production of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid.”

Theatre programs at all three Westerville high schools have all received nominations for this year’s CAPA Marquee Awards, which are designed to celebrate, support, and advocate for high school musical theatre education throughout the region.

The 2022 winners were announced at a student showcase this week at the Ohio Theatre. Modeled after the Tony® Awards, the CAPA Marquee Awards showcase will include live performances from the nominees as well as opening and closing numbers that incorporate nominated students from all participating high schools.
