Teachers and staff in the Westerville City School District took advantage of no classes on October 20 (OEA/NEA Day) to participate in the 5th annual Employee 5K Wellness Challenge, held this year at Walnut Springs Middle School.

In addition, the third annual Employee Health, Safety & Wellbeing Fair was set up in the Walnut Springs gymnasium, featuring more than 30 vendors, who offered gifts and information about health-related topics.  Employees who had their “passports” stamped by more than 15 vendors were entered into a drawing for prizes, which were donated by the vendors.

Earlier in the day, CPR training, facilitated by Westerville Fire Department personnel, was offered to staff at the Early Learning Center.

Participation in the District’s popular Employee Wellness/Wellbeing Program, facilitated by Debbie Meissner, is voluntary and is administered according to federal rules.
