Westerville City Schools invites parents to attend Kindergarten 101 - A Basic Introduction to Kindergarten in Westerville. This will take place from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9 or Thursday, February 11, at each elementary school. The same presentation will be given during each building’s designated Kindergarten 101 night. Parents are encouraged to attend the presentation at their home school, but may choose the location that is most convenient for them.
- February 9, 2016: Alcott, Annehurst, Fouse, Huber Ridge, Mark Twain, Robert Frost
- February 11, 2016: Cherrington, Hawthorne, McVay, Pointview, Wilder, Whittier
This 60-minute program is designed for parents of incoming kindergarten students. Participants can expect to receive information regarding Westerville’s registration process and an overview of kindergarten “gentle start” and assessments. Kindergarten teachers will present information about kindergarten curriculum and expectations. A question/answer session will follow the presentation. Interpreters will be available at the following locations:
- Arabic: Hawthorne
- Nepali: Mark Twain
- Somali: Mark Twain, Hawthorne and Wilder
- Spanish: Fouse and Pointview
- Tigrinya: Mark Twain
