A native Cincinnatian, the Reverend Rick A. Vilardo has been a resident of Westerville for 25 years.
Elected to Board of Education in 2013, Rev. Vilardo also serves on the WCSD Community Engagement Committee (CEC), which has allowed him to meet all school staff within the district as well as with many community groups, and as an active school volunteer, particularly for the WCSD Elementary Leadership Summit. A product of the Cincinnati public schools, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Divinity in Theology from Emory University and a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University.
As Founding and Lead Pastor of NewSong Community Church in Westerville, Rev. Vilardo’s leadership also extends beyond the local church. He has served as both a Growth Plus consultant for the United Methodist denomination and as an independent consultant for a national capital stewardship firm, where he utilized his knowledge and experience to strengthen existing faith-based, and other non-profit, organizations. His expertise in strategic planning, stewardship campaigning and capital acquisitions enabled scores of non-profits to exceed their goals, while staying true to their vision and core values. Locally, he is also a member of the Rotary Club of Westerville, and a graduate of Leadership Columbus and Leadership Westerville.
Rev. Vilardo is married and has two children – one in elementary school and one in middle school within the WCSD.
