As part of the capstone component in the Global Scholars Diploma program, students across the district’s three high schools are tackling a global issue by addressing it at a local level.
Three Westerville City Schools high school students are state champions in four events and another seven earned top spots during the 2024 Indoor State Track Championship on March 1 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva.
Westerville North High School senior Madelyn Bosler placed third in the 100 yard breaststroke and Westerville South High School freshman Andrew Keir placed eighth in the diving event after competing in the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet on Feb. 20 to 24 at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.
Christopher Hendricksen, a science and social studies teacher at Heritage Middle School, has been named Middle School Teacher of the Year by the Westerville VFW Post 7883.
Members honored Hendricksen at a meeting on Wednesday as well as Westerville North High School senior Eyon Robinson, who won second place in the Voice of Democracy writing contest.
Westerville Central High School junior Sophie Sneeringer is part of a four-member team at the Delaware Area Career Center (DACC) that is a finalist in the Workplace Skills Assessment Program’s national competition in the 2-D animation category.
More than 60 Westerville South High School students were recognized as “Cats with Class,” a long-standing WSHS tradition that honors students who demonstrate kindness and good school citizenship.
