Good day, Heritage Families,smiley

Happy Friday and welcome to the Principal’s Message here on November 17, 2017! I hope you and your family are enjoying these crisp fall days and are looking forward to Thanksgiving right around the corner.

As we look back at another great week at Heritage Middle School, I would like to start with today:

  1. Today, our PRIDE Quarter 1 award winners were treated to a savory breakfast in the commons area with pancakes and sausage cooked up by HMS staff members and served with a smile!  Prizes were also given away to lucky PRIDE winners as well, and a great time was had by everyone!  We’re looking forward to another awesome celebration for Quarter 2 PRIDE winners, so keep earning those points with Husky PRIDE!

  2. On Wednesday, November 15th, the Junior Mentors from Westerville North, South and Central HS met with our 8th graders to get them ready for high school. And at noon, our MODEL group met with their mentors to get lessons and do activities for the bright road forward.

  3. And Tuesday, November 14th, there was a Winter Sports Parent Meeting for anyone who has a child interested in participating in a sport this coming season.  Please visit our Athletics page on the school website.

Here are some key events and Husky things to know for next week:

  1. Thanksgiving Break will begin on Wednesday, November 22. There will be no school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  We’ll be ready to see our Huskies on Monday, November 27 after the break.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving time with family and friends!

Before we wrap up this week’s Principal’s Message, I have two more things to say.  First, we need some help on the homefront.   We’re seeing more students filming things here at school on their phones and posting them on social media--and the results are always negative and harmful.  Please remind your student that they aren’t permitted to film or take pictures of anyone without their permission. Second, we need some help to raise the attitude of gratitude--and it starts with me.  I want to thank you for everything you’re doing at home to help and support us here at Heritage.  I appreciate all of the time and effort you put in to help our scholars. If you have time, please send a message of thanks to our teachers, who work so tirelessly and with such dedication for our students.

So we’re looking forward to another wonderful week of Husky PRIDE.  As we say at Heritage: Keep your eyes on the prize and seize every day with kindness, excellence, and Husky PRIDE! We Are Heritage! We are Husky Strong!

Thanks,

Dr. Tomlinyes
