TRYOUTS for Girls Softball for all 7th and 8th grade girls will be on Thursday, February 22 & Thursday, March 1 @ 4:30 - 6:00 pm in Blendon's gymnasium. Athletes will need to attend both tryouts for consideration. The first official team practice will be March 2 at 4:30 pm.
Any 7th and 8th grade boys and girls that are interested in running track or participating in field events, such as the shot put, discus, long jump, and high jump, voluntary conditioning will begin this week after school. Spring Preseason Conditioning will be on Feb 22, 23, 27, March 1 and 2. Conditioning will be from 3-4:30. The first official day of practice will be on March 5. This announcement is for all current eighth grade girls who are interested in participating in the Girls Soccer program at Westerville Central next year. There will be an informational meeting for parents of incoming freshmen on Monday, February 26th at 7:00 pm in the Westerville Central media center. Players are welcome to attend as well. The meeting will provide information to parents about the girl’s soccer program at Central and the upcoming 2018 season.
Recycling will be picked up today in the following rooms: the office, and 203, 205, 207, 209, 212, 214, 215. Please place your recycling outside your door by second period.

Today in 1870, Hiram Revels takes the oath of office as the first African American US senator. Visitors in the Senate galleries burst into applause as senator-elect Hiram Revels, a Republican from Mississippi, entered the chamber. Those present knew that they were witnessing an event of great historical significance.
