Second grade students at Whittier Elementary School presented a concert titled Winter Spectacular on Thursday, December 14.  They were accompanied by the Recorder Club and the Whittier Singers, a fourth and fifth grade after-school choir.  Part of the show included an audience sing-along, consisting of seasonal standards.  The program was a wonderful celebration of the beauty of winter and the joys of spending time with family.

In preparation for the performance, the children learned a variety of musical numbers and choreography, including a rap about elves, a song of peace, a medley of tunes about bells, and a jazzy song about Santa. The concert featured youngsters dancing with an assortment of holiday props and costumes, and playing tone chimes, boomwhackers, and percussion.  Evan McIntyre directed.
