Dear Hanby Families,

It’s hard to believe but we are already over halfway through the year!   While February was a short month there is still much to do! February was filled with learning and fun! Friendship week was a success and we look forward to making this an annual event and tradition at Hanby. Please continue the spirit of Friendship week at home just as we will at school! Remind your child to use kind words and be kind to others-because that's the Hanby Way!

There are a lot of activities coming up this month! We are rapidly approaching the Magnet Fair, which will be held on Tuesday, March 7th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Hanby!  Please note that there is still time to spread the words to others that Hanby is a great place to be!  When you share the good things about Hanby, it really helps to attract new students!  We also have our Trash to Fashion Runway Show on March 16th and Invention Convention on March 24th

District/State testing will also soon be starting very soon!  Grades 2 and 5 will take the Terra Nova in March (specific dates TBD). Please check with your child's teacher regarding the schedule. During the month of April, we will take Ohio State Tests (OST) on the following dates:

April 4, 5 - Grades 4 & 5  English Language Arts Part I and II

April 6, 7 -   Grade 3 English Language Arts Part I and II

April 11, 12 - Grades 4 Social Studies Part I and II

April 11, 12  -  Grade 5 Science Part I and II

April 18, 19- Grades 4 & 5 Math

April 20, 21- Grade 3 Math

You can find the District Testing calendar here:

Testing will always begin promptly at 9:00 am.  Please be mindful of absences and late arrivals during the above testing windows. We want our students to be ready to show what they know! Your help with this is very much appreciated!

As always, if you have questions or concerns, please contact the main office at 797-7100.  Thank you for your continued support of Hanby Elementary School’s students and staff.

Monica C. Brown,

Hanby Principal
